Kinds of Construction Lifts or Boom Lifts
A boom lift is a piece of machine which enables personnel to perform jobs without having to build a scaffolding. They are used to work on elevated structures, to do maintenance work and are common equipment found in warehouse and factory environment as well.

Normally, construction lifts provide wheeled and powered bases which are capable of driving to the work place and have a platform on them which is responsible for lifting personnel. There are many different kinds of lifts and every one is suited to different jobs and settings.

Bucket Trucks
Bucket trucks, which are usually known as "cherry-pickers", carry a long boom that has a bucket attached at the end. This bucket area is where an employee may stand. Usually, bucket trucks are used by landscapers and by utility workers. Landscapers normally use these machinery to trim trees.

Bucket trucks are equipped with a boom assembly which is mounted on a regular truck, and this means these lifts could travel on roads at regular traffic speeds. This mobility really increases the area they can effectively service. This is particularly essential for power companies. Like for instance, a lot of these businesses utilize cherry pickers to elevate workers up so they can reach and work on transmission lines. The buckets should be frequently inspected and insulated well as they are working near possible shock hazards.

Articulated boom lifts are also referred to as "knuckle lifts", and consist of a work platform that is mounted on an arm which is able to bend so as to reach around obstacles. The base of the lift contains a turntable and can turn the lift in a complete circle. The base of the lift is mounted on wheels as well for extra mobility.

Usually, the articulated boom lift is used for landscaping projects but is also handy for maintenance work on projects that are already finished. Projects that do not need easy access right beneath the jobsite. These lifts can be utilized to repair piping or exterior electrical work, as well as difficult to clean areas. Normally knuckle lifts are driven by the employee in the platform with the extended boom.
